Lemon, Ginger and Turmeric Sunshine Tonic

Introduction

If anyone at home has even the vaguest sniff or cough, I make them this tonic; inspired by the ideas in Mira Manek’s book Prajna, it’s packed with turmeric, ginger, black pepper and lemon. My mother swears it’s helped her feel better when under the weather (or perhaps she’s just trying to avoid my making her a second cup), but as a home remedy for a sore throat, I feel the colour of the drink alone will make you feel better – I have it whenever I need some extra oomph in the morning. I like to drink this hot as tea, with or without honey.
