Introduction from Bird & Blend Tea Co.

Here’s a fun twist on the traditional mulled wine festive drink. Made with our warming winter fruit tea, Mulled Cider, with aromatic winter spices, it is the perfect Christmas party tipple with or without alcohol. You can also use any fruit tea with a strong apple flavour.

Ingredients

4 tsp apple-flavoured tea (we use our MULLED CIDER blend)
100ml boiling water
1 apple
200ml apple juice
Cinnamon stick
25ml brandy or rum if wanting to make boozy (optional)

Method

1

Brew the tea in a Brewdini or tea strainer with the boiling water for 4 minutes.

2

While your tea is brewing, thinly slice the apple.

3

When the tea has brewed, strain it into a pan and add the apple juice and the cinnamon stick. Put the pan over a low heat, and leave the ingredients to infuse for 5 minutes.

4

Add your shot of alcohol at this point (if using), and take the mixture off the heat. Pour into mugs and sip next to a crackling fire.
