This easy air fryer chicken wings are made with simple everyday ingredients. Serve with couscous and tzatziki for a delicious, Greek-inspired summer dinner.
Introduction
A simple marinade of lemon juice, oregano and garlic brings authentic Greek flavours to these chicken wings. They are great to nibble on during the week when you feel like something tasty and nourishing but not too heavy.
Ingredients
| For the chicken | |
|---|---|
| 1kg (2Ib 4oz) | chicken wings (with or without skin) |
| salt | |
| For the marinade | |
| 1 tsp | coarsely ground black pepper |
| 1 tsp | dried oregano |
| 1 tsp | chopped thyme leaves |
| 1 tbsp | minced garlic |
| 1 tsp | paprika |
| 1 tbsp | lemon zest, plus 2 tbsp juice |
| 2 tbsp | olive oil |
| Serving suggestion | |
| herby couscous, tzatziki |
Method
Prep: 20 minutes. Marinate: 1-2 hours. Cook: 30 minutes.
Split the wings into flats and drumettes (see page 13 of The Ultimate Air Fryer Chicken Book). If you’re using skin-on chicken wings, make cuts in them to help the marinade penetrate the meat.
In a large bowl, whisk together all the ingredients for the marinade and season with salt. Add the wing pieces to the bowl, turning to coat them thoroughly. Cover the bowl, then transfer the chicken to the fridge to marinate for 1-2 hours.
Place the marinated wings in your air-fryer basket or tray. Air-fry at 190°C (375°F) for 20 minutes, then flip the wings over and air-fry for a further 6-7 minutes, until they are cooked through and crispy.
Serve with some herby couscous and tzatziki.
