Ottolenghi COMFORT

Who are the authors? Since opening his first deli in London over 20 years ago, Yotam Ottolenghi has become an acclaimed chef, restaurateur, bestselling cookbook author, and household name. His unmistakable style of cooking, which includes bold Middle Eastern-inspired flavours and vegetable-centric dishes, has influenced head chefs and home cooks alike.

Yotam wrote Ottolenghi COMFORT alongside Helen Goh, who much like Ottolenghi himself, started out as a pastry chef, Verena Lochmuller, Head of Product Development at the Ottolenghi Test Kitchen, who is a passionate believe that a good pastry recipe is a secret weapon in every kitchen, and Tara Wigley, co-author Ottolenghi SIMPLE and Falastin, who switched publishing for food and writing back in 2010 and has been working with Yotam since 2011.

What’s it about? As the title suggests, COMFORT is all about giving comfort food the Ottolenghi treatment. It comprises over 100 delicious, inventive, and accessible recipes, with beautiful photography throughout.

However, this is not your average collection of easy comforting dishes. In his most personal cookbook since Jerusalem, Ottolenghi weaves memories of his childhood and travel experiences alongside elevated comfort food classics, making COMFORT a love letter to food and the nostalgia, connection, and sense of home it has the power to evoke.

Recipes we love: Caramelised Onion Orecchiette with Hazelnuts & Crispy Sage, Cheesy Bread Soup with Savoy Cabbage & Cavolo Nero, and Garlicky Aligot Potato with Leeks & Thyme.

Perfect for: Fans of Ottolenghi’s restaurants, delis, and cookbooks, especially SIMPLE, FLAVOUR, and Jerusalem
