Who’s the author? Rex De Guzman is a British-born Filipino chef, entrepreneur and content creator dedicated to championing Filipino cuisine in the UK. After building his career with the Gordon Ramsay Group and working under Michelin-starred chef Simon Hulstone, he reached a national audience as a finalist on Channel 4’s The Great Cookbook Challenge, where his Filipino cooking won praise from the judges.
Rex began his mission to introduce more people to Filipino food through his first pop-up restaurant before founding his street food brand, Turo Turo. His research travels across the Philippines have helped shape his understanding of the country’s food culture, and this cookbook reflects his passion for making authentic Filipino cooking approachable for everyday kitchens.
