Who’s the author? Charlotte Stirling-Reed is a registered nutritionist whose mission is to give parents confidence when it comes to feeding their children. She began her working life in the NHS and has since worked in various areas of nutrition. Her work has been featured in numerous publications such as Mother & Baby, Harper’s Bazaar, the Guardian, and the Daily Telegraph and has won multiple awards, while her previous books How to Wean Your Baby and How to Feed Your Toddler are both Sunday Times bestsellers. She is the owner of consultancy firm SR Nutrition and has worked with a number of brands and celebrities, including Joe Wicks. She is also mum to her own little foodies, Raffy and Adaline.
What’s it about? Following on from her previous books, Charlotte brings her trademark approach of practical support and nurturing advice to help you manage the often-challenging task of feeding the whole family. After the initial weaning stage, it can be all too easy to fall back into old patterns, and if you’re feeding a baby alongside older children, it’s sometimes hard to know where to begin. Helping your whole family to eat well and follow a healthy diet can seem unachievable, especially when you consider that many of us are juggling work lives, food budgets, family schedules and routines, and different food preferences.
So, as well as delicious, balanced recipes the whole family will enjoy (with clear baby and toddler adaptations for each one), you’ll also find chapters on what and how to feed your family to ensure they are getting the right nutrients; how to approach mealtimes to bring some fun into eating together as a family; and how to get organised, whether that’s stocking your fridge and cupboards, reducing food waste, freezing ahead, cooking on a budget, or menu planning.
Recipes we love: Carrot Cake Granola, Turkey Burgers, Roast Squash Tagine, Cheat’s Veggie Lasagne and Lower-Sugar Marble Cake.
Perfect for: anyone who wants to give their family – whatever the size and age range – the best nutritional start in life, to achieve that all-important balance.
