Whether spread thickly over freshly baked bread, melted into a rich sauce or whipped into a light, buttery sponge, few ingredients are quite as versatile or universally beloved as butter. This beautifully photographed cookbook celebrates the simple pleasure of cooking with butter, exploring its history, craftsmanship and endless culinary possibilities.
From making your own cultured butter to experimenting with different flavours and techniques, Butter offers an accessible introduction to the art of homemade butter-making. You’ll also find a tempting collection of sweet and savoury recipes that put this everyday ingredient centre stage, from comforting, butter-rich meals to more elaborate dishes, bakes and desserts.
Alongside the recipes, you’ll discover the traditions and skills behind butter production, with insights into what makes good-quality butter so special.
