From the book

Introduction

This is ridiculously lovely and if it ever leaves the bowl without you eating it simply with a spoon I’ll be amazed.Remember, raw chocolate is better for you, so try to substitute raw cocoa powder from your deli for the cocoa powder. The kids will go ape for this as a treat.

Ingredients

250g hazelnuts, skinned
100g vegan dark chocolate, melted
100g icing sugar
3 tbsp cocoa powder

Essential kit

You will need: a food processor

Method

Heat the hazelnuts in a dry frying pan over a medium–high heat for 5 minutes until they are very lightly browned. While they are still hot, tip the toasted hazelnuts into a food processor and process until you have a creamy paste. This will take 4–5 minutes, so be patient!

Add the melted chocolate, icing sugar and cocoa powder and blend until the mixture is combined and has become a paste. Scrape into a jar and enjoy spread on toast. This will keep for up to a month, if stored in a sealed jar in the fridge.
