Christmas Spice Cocktail

A sophisticated festive cocktail brimming with warming Christmas spices.

Introduction

Here’s to all the flavours of Christmas in one fruity and spicy concoction. I recommend George’s Old 59 for its cardamom and orange notes but your pick of gin will also work just fine.

Ingredients

30ml George’s Old 59 gin or similar
5ml Pimento Dram liqueur
10ml lemon juice
15ml pomegranate syrup (or grenadine)
ice cubes
prosecco, chilled

Essential kit

You will need: a Boston shaker.

Method

Glass: Champagne flute. Garnish: orange zest studded with three cloves.

Pour the gin, Pimento Dram, lemon juice and pomegranate syrup into a Boston shaker. Fill with ice and shake until cold. Fine strain into the champagne flute and top with chilled prosecco. Garnish with an orange peel studded with cloves.
