For the love of lemons

Who’s the author? Food writer, illustrator, and chef Letitia Clark is the author of several books about food, cooking, and the art of savouring life. Letitia completed her diploma at Leiths School of Food and Wine before going on to work in some of London’s top restaurants, including Spring, Morito and The Dock Kitchen. She now lives in Sardinia with her partner, where they are building a small farm and dairy.

Letitia’s debut title Bitter Honey was named one of the best food books of 2020 by The Times, one of the only cookbooks worth buying during lockdown by The New York Times, and was Highly Commended by The Guild of Food Writers in the First Book category. Her second book La Vita è Dolce was voted one of the best food books of 2021 in The Sunday Times, while her third book Wild Figs & Fennel: A Year in an Italian Kitchen enjoyed both critical and commercial success.

What’s it about? A celebration of the world’s most versatile and beloved citrus fruit, For the Love of Lemons is a unique blend of captivating storytelling and irresistible recipes. Letitia weaves together the humble lemon’s history and botanical facts, as well as personal stories told in her inimitable voice, capturing the charm of the lemon in all its forms.

Letitia’s engaging writing sets the scene for a collection of Italian-inspired recipes that highlight the lemon’s zingy, vibrant appeal. Simple yet full of flavour, this cookbook showcases the versatility of lemons with dishes that truly sing. She also explores creative ways to use lemons outside of the kitchen with must-try lifestyle tips.

Illustrated with Letitia’s own original artwork and stunning location photography throughout, For the Love of Lemons is as beautiful to read as it is to cook from. Transporting you straight to the sun-drenched Mediterranean, it’s part gourmet indulgence, part artistic travelogue.

Recipes we love: Lemony Burrata with Spring Vegetables and Pistachio Pesto, Creamy Lemon and Mascarpone Carbonara, Chicken with Lemon, Saffron and Artichokes, and Lemon Tiramisu.

Perfect for: Lemon lovers eager to discover new ways to enjoy their favourite fruit, or armchair travellers seeking a transportive culinary escape.
