
Elizabeth David
Elizabeth David (1913-1992) journeyed extensively during the Second World War, spending time across Europe, the Middle East, and India. After returning to England in 1946, she authored the influential Mediterranean Food, the first of six bestselling cookbooks. In addition to her success as an author, se was a highly productive journalist. Her contributions to literature were recognized with a Fellowship at the Royal Society of Literature in 1982, and she was honoured with a CBE in 1986.
