Ottolenghi SIMPLE TOO: 5 things we can reveal so far

by Rachel Deeley

published on 4 February 2026

In 2018, Yotam Ottolenghi helped us elevate our everyday cooking with Ottolenghi SIMPLE, the hit cookbook that went on to sell over 1 million copies and became a perennial favourite for home cooks around the world.

Now, eight years and several cookbooks later, he’s returning to those same principles with Ottolenghi SIMPLE TOO, a new release hitting shelves later this year. We can’t wait to get our hands on a copy and acquaint ourselves with a whole new collection of Ottolenghi recipes – but in the meantime, here’s everything you need to know about the book, including release date, chapters, and what you can expect from this beautiful new addition to your kitchen shelves.

1. Ottolenghi SIMPLE TOO will be released on 3rd September 2026 and is available to pre-order now – so you can look forward to new cooking inspiration as we head into autumn, or add it to your wishlist before the festive period.

2. Much like Ottolenghi SIMPLE, the recipes in SIMPLE TOO have features that help remove the barriers to cooking – whether that’s time, effort, or concentration. Each of the book’s 135 recipes can either be made in 30 minutes, prepared in advance, or cooked in just one pot.

3. More than just a continuation of its 2018 precursor, however, SIMPLE TOO is a cookbook for our times. Many of its tried-and-tested recipes are inspired by the busy lives of Ottolenghi and his colleagues. Whether it’s an omelette with a twist made to feed hungry children in a cinch, or a one-pot centrepiece that gets the seal of approval from a non-chef spouse, these are recipes designed for real life.

4. With chapters covering Breakfast and brunchSnacks, spreads and soups, Meat, Fish, Veggie mains, Pasta, Sides, Salads, and Desserts, you’ll find cooking inspiration for any and all occasions. There’s also a Fundamentals section in the book’s final pages, which includes over a dozen sauces, oils, and seasoning blends that you can make in batches and keep tucked away in your fridge or cupboard, ready to reach for whenever you need them.

5. Many of the recipes are Test Kitchen favourites. From Verena Lochmuller’s Everyday Granola infused with banana and tahini, to the Stuffed Romano Peppers that were snaffled up in seconds during testing, SIMPLE TOO is packed with elevated yet versatile, achievable recipes you can come back to time and time again.
