Rose Gray
Ruth Rogers and Rose Gray opened the acclaimed River Cafe in 1987, which later earned a Michelin star. In 1995, they published The River Cafe Cookbook, a ground-breaking guide to Italian cooking that became an international bestseller. The success of this debut led to the release of several other bestselling cookbooks. In recognition of their contributions to the culinary world, they were both awarded MBEs in 2010, shortly before Rose passed away. The River Cafe has also served as a launching pad for a new wave of celebrated chefs, including Jamie Oliver, April Bloomfield, and Samuel and Samantha Clark, who all started their culinary journeys in its kitchen.
