Ingredients

4 small Bramley apples
4 level tbsp mincemeat
1 tbsp runny honey
zest and juice of 1 large orange
½ tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp ground ginger
To serve:
vanilla ice cream or plain yoghurt

Essential kit

You will need: a slow cooker.

Method

COOK 4–6 hours on low or 2 hours on high.

Carefully remove the core of each apple and set the apples aside.

In a mixing bowl, mix together the mincemeat, honey, orange zest and juice and spices until well combined. Spoon into the cored apples, then place them in your slow cooker. Cook on low for 4–6 hours or high for 2 hours.

When cooked, carefully transfer the apples to a serving dish, then pour over the juices in the bottom of the slow cooker.

Serve hot with some vanilla ice cream or plain yoghurt.
